What is your favorite part about working with portfolio companies / entrepreneurs?

Without entrepreneurs, ideas stay in our imagination. I love working with people dedicated to building something new.

What defines an interesting market?

Scale and complexity create interesting markets. Complexity, which may come in many forms, creates barriers to entry, multiple pain points, and different needs in customers. With scale, these complex markets become large enough to support multiple solutions and drive continuous innovation.

Why did you choose to be a venture capitalist?

I want to be around teams that are focused on creating value in their fields. VCs have the privilege of getting to be a part of that journey across industries and over time.

I joined Redpoint because I wanted to…

work with team that has a strong track record of identifying and supporting great founders and ideas

What is your favorite book?

A Perfect Spy by John le Carre. It's part spy novel, part autobiography and deeply moving. It reveals how impactful the narratives we write for ourselves can be.

What job would you be doing if you were not a VC?

I love to cook and could see myself working at or managing a restaurant.

If you could play a sport / take a road trip with anyone, who would it be?

I would have loved to go on a road trip with Anthony Bourdain. His shows and writing brought humanity and nuance to parts of the world that are often overlooked.

Favorite quote or saying?

"Courage is the commitment to begin without any guarantee of success."  - Goethe

What is your favorite hobby/outside of venture, how do you spend your time?

I love to stay active and try new activities. I've been practicing yoga for a few years and more recently got into boxing. I'm hoping to add pilates and tennis to the rotation!
