What is your favorite part about working with portfolio companies/entrepreneurs?

Getting a sneak preview of the future and supporting individuals make their wildest dreams a reality.

How do you view your role with portfolio companies?

I view myself as an extension of the team. I will always be there to support portfolio founders and their teams as they reach seminal inflection points – be it closing a big hire, signing a game-changing contract, or achieving a new revenue milestone. Whether it’s on the sidelines as their biggest cheerleader or on the field stretching to fill any near-term team needs, there are few things more fulfilling for me than being a part of a win for people I care about and believe in so deeply.

How did your family shape your views on work?

Growing up with a working mom is core to my identity and drive to push the world around me towards a better tomorrow. Having moved to the US with nothing when she was only a few years younger than I am today, my mother never took no for an answer and never neglected to lift up those around her, regardless of how much was on her plate (yours truly included!) Her 4:30am wake-ups and weeks on the road taught me the meaning of hard work. Her consistent commitment to bringing cross-generational groups together to drive disruptive discussions taught me the meaning of hospitality. And her zest for each and every day taught me the power of finding passion in your professional pursuits. While my Zoom sweats certainly pale in comparison to her stylish suits, I am always trying to channel her energy in whatever I do.

Favorite quote?

“In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different.” - Coco Chanel

Meditation or yoga?

Both; I believe that mindset is one of the highest leverage and most controllable keys to success.

What makes Redpoint unique?

I feel incredibly fortunate every day to be surrounded by some of the most intellectual, empathetic, ambitious, and inspirational individuals I’ve met in my career. Talk about #goals.

Why did you become a venture capitalist?

I want to play a role in shaping a more fulfilling, equitable, delightful, and sustainable future for the consumers of tomorrow.

People are often surprised to hear that I …

Still live with my parents (the best type of stage 5 clinger…). When I first moved to California for college over a decade ago, my parents packed up their house, our dogs, and the cars and followed me out here from North Carolina, so I like to think that they continue to enjoy my kitchen table company. To say that we’re very close would be an understatement!

What job would you be doing if you were not a VC?

Psychotherapist. There are few things that I’m more passionate about than understanding human emotions, unpacking the “why,” and empowering those around me to live their best lives.
